About Me

I am a passionate 25 year old cybersecurity professional, and I created this blog to help make the digital world a little bit safer and easy to understand! Whether you are new to cybersecurity or have some experience in the field, I’m here to share tips and insights to help you feel more confident and secure online.

I am equally passionate about empowering women and young girls to thrive in this industry. However, I hope this blog can help inspire anyone looking to break into, grow or start a hobby in the tech field. 

How I Got Here

I started my first job in cybersecurity in 2017, right after finishing high school, and I haven’t looked back since. Back in 5th year, I knew I wanted to work in technology, but I wasn’t exactly sure where to start. In 6th year, I completed a National Progression Award in Cybersecurity, and that’s when everything clicked. I knew I had found my path.

Since then, my career has primarily been within the pensions industry and financial technology fields, that are a perfect fit with the ever-evolving tech landscape. Some people may think cybersecurity is a dry, technical field, but I see it completely differently. No two days are the same; it’s a constantly changing space full of challenges, innovation, and excitement.

From starting with so little knowledge in a the field to now having 8 years work experience, an Honours degree, and several professional certifications. I have learned so much throughout the years, and I want to share that with you. Whether it’s helping you secure your own online presence, breaking down the complexities of cyber threats, or starting your own business, this blog is the place to start. This is where I will help you do just that.

Why This Blog?

I created The Security Brief because I wanted to build a space where everyone, regardless of background, can feel empowered to learn about tech without feeling overwhelmed. Cybersecurity doesn’t have to be intimidating, and it definitely doesn’t have to be boring.

I believe in making tech education accessible, practical, and fun. After all, tech can be cool too!
